Pamela Teves was born in the Netherlands started acting in university and became totally smitten with it. She then decided to make it her profession after finishing her law studies. She speaks English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German and has been acting since 1978.
This is her first time working with The Gate Theater, after 42 years of professional engagements. Among them: Wicked, Of mice and Men, Duet for one, The little Mermaid, My fair lady, Me and My Girl, Powerwomen ,Cabaret, Ice, etc. etc.

Malonie Hewstan
Malonie most recently appeared in An Inspector Calls. She is also an artist, photographer and gardener. She has experience in community theatre as a set decorator in Canada where she lives and with The Gate on the play, Big Hunk O’ Burnin Love and Harvey. Malonie has been a member of The Gate for four years.
Hannah Huff
Hannah Huff worked with The Gate Theater for the first time during the 2020 season as Sheila in An Inspector Calls. This is the first main stage production she had been involved in for over two years. She has since appeared as Myrtle Mae in Harvey. During her high school career, Hannah was involved in seven different productions, including Pride and Prejudice and You Can’t Take it With You. She then pursued a degree in theater performance at Baylor University. While she left Baylor after only a year, she maintains her passion for theater. In her spare time, Hannah writes, paints and draws. She also enjoys playing the flute and reading.
Ann Fink
Ann is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She has been performing in some way since she was 5 years old, ironically starting with the musical the King and I. She is a trained classical singer and has performed in everything from Broadway musicals to operas and operettas. Ann is thrilled to have the Gate Theater in Chiang Mai and to be part of its growth. The Laramie Project was her theatrical debut with The Gate and she was most recently seen in The Exonerated.
Polly Szantor
Polly became stage-struck at age thirteen when she played the child’s role in Roar Like a Dove. Since then she has performed in plays, musicals, movies
and in her own cable TV show for children, Miss Polly’s Playtime. Her true
love is the stage, and here in Chiang Mai she has acted in the Vagina
Monologues, the Yoni Monologues, at Villa Virtuosa and with The Gate Theater in Focus on the Actor. Most recently she presented her one-woman show, Marcie, at the Chiang Mai

Toby Willis
Toby started performing at university in the UK and after moving to Brighton, was involved in many musical productions; Me and My Girl, The Baker's Wife, Sweeney Todd. As a high school drama teacher, his role as director flourished. He has directed straight theatre but his love of musicals remains. Most recently he took on the difficult task of directing and also serving as Musical Director for Sweeney Todd, to critical acclaim.
Douglas Bonner
Douglas is an Emmy-winning filmmaker who began performing for paying audiences at the age of 9. He has worked both behind and in front of the camera for more than 3 decades. He comes to Chiang Mai after 10 years working as an actor in the Chinese film industry. He’s thrilled to work in a play set in his hometown, which tells of the powerful social change in that era.

Lucy Coombs
Lucy's prior acting career consisted of an minimal part in a one-act play in high school. Fifty some years later, she resumed her thespian pursuit in Chiang Mai. She has no further aspirations.
Lucy is no stranger to The Gate Theater, as she has spent many a performance working behind the stage. She has also added her creative talents to many of the props used in the past productions. It was her special touch that created the almost real jukebox in The Dodo Bird. She added her unflagging energy to The Laramie Project.

Neville Powis
Neville was born in England, Neville Started acting in the late 70’s in Amsterdam. He co-founded the Amsterdam Chamber Theater (ACT) in 1982.
With the Gate Theater Neville organized a series of one act plays in 2014 called From the Ridiculous to the Absurd and played Gary Peter Lefkowitz in The Gate Theater’s production of ‘I Hate Hamlet’ in 2015. He co-directed a new actor’s workshop with Stephan Turner this past summer and appeared in An Evening of Monologues & Scenes which was sponsored by Chiang Mai theatrics. Paul Garnsey
Paul is an Australian expat living in Chiang Mai for four years. He’s grateful for the fun social scene and cultural entertainment offered by The Gate Theater. His most recent stage performances were Mr. Birling in An Inspector Calls, Dr. Chumley in Harvey, Henry in Cosi, and the Wizard in The Wizard of Oz. He wrote and acted in Gold Coast productions of Shark Hunter, Brother Lee Love’s Live Circus Extravaganza!, and Dirty Mingus. In Chiang Mai, he loves getting lost in the maze of sois in the Old City.
Nat Hix
Nat has appeared in a number of Gate Theater productions including The Exonerated, The Christmas Choir, and Space. His directing experience began back in the 1960's when he was the program manager for Up With People, a South Carolina touring music ensemble. Nat is also a member of Toastmaster International. Nat most recently worked with The Gate as Assistant Director for Driving Miss Daisy.
Leonard J Garbutt jr.
Leonard is from Toronto Canada – Is of unusual character and background by chance he translated his wide technical and fabrication talents into a Love of Theater with Beach Community Players from 1985 – 1995.

Noted for designing and building special electro/mechanical effects and properties details to bring to life the laboratory of Victor Frankenstein in “Frankenstein” all while growing into Stage Management.

Somporn Sonthiporn
Somporn Somporn was born in Bangkok, spent her childhood in
Lopburi, and was educated in Norway. She later moved to the UK with her family, returning to Chiang Mai in 2007 to raise her children. She has always been passionate about reading and love watching period drama and stage plays. Somporn has quietly enjoyed supporting The Gate since her daughter was a student of Stephan Turner’s at CMIS. She has most recently appeared in Harvey during the 2020 season, Almost Maine in 2018 and Big Hunk O' Burnin Love in 2017.

Bernie Miller
Bernie appeared in his first Gate Theater production during the 2020 season as Dr. Sanderson in Harvey. He has been in Chiang Mai for two years and comes here after two years in Cuenca, Ecuador where he appeared in productions staged by the local theater group there, Azuay Community Theater. In his previous life in New York, he studied and performed with the Anna Panaro Studio for five years before abandoning the stage for a life of corporate responsibility. Pim is Thai/British, owner of Trisila Company Limited, publisher of Citylife magazine, CityNow! events guide, and CityNews online.
She has lived in Chiang Mai pretty much most of her life, though has also gallivanted off to live in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Canada, Switzerland, Scotland and Israel over the years.

Judy Mandel
Judy, at the tail end of a career as a criminal defense attorney, arrived in Chiang Mai and resumed some old interests. You may have seen her in The Reindeer Monologues, August Osage County, The Pirates of Chemo, The Yoni Monologues or at the Fringe, Queerscape or Act Up. Other passions include Butoh Dance and

Connie Mudore (Mrs. Chauvenet) has acted in Community Theater for over 25 years. She
recently earned a film credit. In Chiang Mai, Connie appeared in Steel Magnolias, The

Jeff Lynn
After seeing their production of The Odd Couple, Jeff joined The Gate in 2012 to play Boolie, Daisy's son in Driving Miss Daisy. He performed his role in the Chiang Rai as well as the Chiang Mai shows. Shortly before this he had caught the acting 'bug' again while playing Bob the Builder for CMIS elementary students' programs. He is the High School Learning Support Teacher at CMIS where he has also performed in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and The Sound of Music.
As a youth, Jeff had roles in Dick Whittington and His Cat, A Christmas Carol, and in Tyl Eulenspeigel's Talking Donkey for Charleston WV's community theater. He was Russ in The Gate's production of The Dodo Bird, which, like Driving Miss Daisy, went on the road to Chiang Rai.

Jason appeared most cerently as Elwood Dowd in The Gate's 2020 production of Harvey, The Miner in Into the Light, Gary in The Exonerated, and Galileo in Starry Messenger . He has also been seen as Feste in BCT’s Twelfth Night in Bangkok. He also acted alongside Chow Yun-fat in Felix Chong’s award winning movie, The Guttenberg Project. Off-Broadway in New York Jason was in Brecht’s Edward II and played Prince Hal in Henry IV Part I as a member of The Riverside Shakespeare Company. In regional theater he portrayed multiple characters in Cyrano de Bergerac with F. Murray Abraham, the Knight in Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Smith in The Bald Soprano, Faust in The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, Steve in The Starting Five,
Konstantin in The Seagull, Flash Gordon in Flash!, Jonathon Harker in Dracula, and Howie

Dan Coffey
Dan worked with the Duck's Breath Mystery Theater of San Francisco for twelve years, supporting himself as an actor and writer. Then he taught theater arts at the University of Iowa until retiring to Thailand ten years ago. Dan has previously appeared in The Gate Theater’s production of I Hate Hamlet playing the ghost of John Barrymore and most recently as Judge Gaffney in Harvey.
Joseph Coffee
Joe grew up loving the arts in Iowa City, Iowa. He has always enjoyed acting, and was in his first performance at age 9, alongside his father and brother. He studied theatre in high school and college, and his favorite role was as Lee, in Sam Shepard’s “True West.” Joe also has a passion for singing, cartooning and creative writing. He came to Chiang Mai in 2017, and has been singing with the Global Harmonies choir, as well as performing with the Gate Theatre in multiple shows. He most recently appeared in The Dodo Bird during the 2019/2020 season and has been working as an English teacher in South America, as well as Southeast Asia, but in his free time he is an avid yoga enthusiast, a swimming fanatic, and enjoys hiking in the mountains of Thailand.
Kenda Rae
Kenda Appeared in The Amen Corner by James Baldwin during the 2018 season. She has sine performed in the first annual Fringe Festival presented by The Gate during the 2019/2020 season performing her one woman show Back to Me. "Should you surrender yourself to love? One women explores this question. Follow her on a journey from ego death to universal love in a dramatic story told through poetry and song."
Emma Carroll
Em’s revelry in different forms of storytelling began in childhood and culminated in choosing to study film making at university. She has gone on to write, direct and edit for film and documentary. Still. She says the real-time rawness of live theatre is something that just can’t be crafted, captured or conveyed in any other medium.
