Student and volunteer opportunities

In keeping with our mission statement, The Gate seeks to enhance development of youth in the theater arts through workshops and cooperative ventures with local schools. Outreach productions and classes are open to young people from 13 to 18 years of age. They focus on providing quality theater training for the beginner exploring acting for the first time as well as advanced level study for the young actor with previous experience.

Classes are geared towards developing imagination, concentration, working with others, exploration of character, and the development of technique in acting. Learning to respect people and the creative process is essential in the program. These training opportunities place students in a position to play the young roles in productions staged by The Gate.  The Gate also seeks to empower young people to strive for excellence in their lives, while embracing an atmosphere of safety that encourages exploration.
