Lucy Coombs

Picture

Lucy is no stranger to TGTG as she has spent many a performance working behind the stage. She has also added her creative talents to many of the props used in the past productions. Her special touch created the almost real jukebox that was used in The Dodo Bird. It, along with the cast, traveled to Chiang Rai to perform The Dodo Bird.

Sarah-Kate Hawkins

Picture
Though naturally theatrical and one who has no difficulty projecting her voice, Sarah-Kate (Skate), has yet to perform in a speaking role with TGTG or any other drama group. This held true during the production of Blithe Spirit where her responsibilities were behind stage. She began her live community theater experiences when she worked with Lucy Coombs and Jim Matchett on the stage crew for Driving Miss Daisy in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.

She had her first ever on-stage non-speaking role in the Royal Academy of Dance-Thailand/Sangdao Performing Arts School's December 2012 production of The Nutcracker.  She was Mrs Stahlbaum, wife to Jeff Lynn's Dr Stahlbaum.  She helped with TGTG's website, FB, and advertising for The Dodo Bird. She returns CM to perform these tasks after being gone on a three month trip to China. Skate is also busy helping with practices as TGTG prepares to deliver the powerful show, The Laramie Project, this coming October.

Mike Kirby

Picture

Mike has been involved in community theater for the past five years back in his home of Ontario, Canada. He has appeared onstage in an acting role three times, as well as working as stage manager. He is thankful to the Gate Theatre for this opportunity to become involved in Chiang Mai's theater community.

Mike will use his skills to operate the lights for the upcoming play, The Laramie Project.

Jeff Lynn

Picture

Jeff joined TGTG in 2012 to play Boolie, Daisy's son in Driving Miss Daisy after seeing their production of The Odd Couple.  Shortly before this he had caught the acting 'bug' again while playing Bob the Builder for CMIS elementary students' programs. He is the High School Learning Support Teacher at CMIS where he has also performed in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and The Sound of Music.

He continues to stay busy with TGTG in roles that have him on and off stage. Look for him onstage in The Laramie Project.

Jim Matchett

Picture

Jim was born in Belfast, N. Ireland. After a 26 year career as Disc Jockey, Singer, and Band Leader in London, his first foray into acting, was as the character, Speed, in The Odd Couple.  He has also served in various capacities including Show Announcer, Box Office attendant, and Scenic Artist for The Gin Game. He was Stage Manager and Show Announcer for Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit.

He has several roles in TGTG's new show,  The Laramie Project.

Joyce Matchett

Picture

For many of the shows, Joyce has been busy both behind the stage and on stage.

She is thankful for being a part of TGTG. Acting in The Gin Game, Driving Miss Daisy, and Blithe Spirit, has enhanced her life here in Chiang Mai. She brings back her acting as well as her stage management skills for the upcoming production of The Laramie Project.

She has also worked as scene painter and stage carpenter for The Dodo Bird, Strange Snow, The Odd Couple, and Driving Miss Daisy.  She continues her many important roles with the upcoming October production of The Laramie Project.

In addition to working with TGTG, Wan has helped build scenery for Chiang Mai International School's productions of Godspell, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and The Miracle Worker.
