There is not much known about the dodo as it is extinct. What is known is that the first people to visit the island of Mauritius, where the dodo lived, they found it a friendly bird. Because the dodo had no wings it could not fly, which allowed the dogs and pigs that the new inhabits bought with them, to easily kill it. Being an easy mark caused them to believe it a dumb bird.

Was that what Bull was thinking when he started in on Archie? Bull really gets himself worked up as he asks Russ and Mick, "What good is he to the world?"

Russ replies with "Well, don't take it out on Dodo." While Mick wonders out loud if anyone is going to drink, he is after all, running a bar.

Early in the play, Russ shares that he is a friend to the Dodo Bird. So one wonders why does Russ allow himself to be pulled into Bull's 'soapbox garbage' and agree to  the bet that causes such pain for Archie?

The depth of Dodo's emotional sharing leaves no doubt to his awareness of his life choices.

What kind of day did Bull have? Are we seeing the 'pecking order' of the world? His boss kicked him and now he needs to feel better about himself by kicking the Dodo. Maybe no dog at home...I wonder how many of us have picked on someone we think is lesser a person than us? and justify it as okay cause someone else did the same to us.
